Meet our partners!! ENCOORD

We have created this section for a better understanding of Hypergryd Project EU and all its members.

To do so, each week, one of the partners will answer some questions.

Let’s get started!

Our guest this week is Marco Flammini from Encoord

The role of Encoord in the Hypergryd Project EU is: involved in WP3 and WP4.

But let Marco Flammini tell us about it!

1. What is the role of Encoord in Hypergryd Project EU?

encoord is involved with other partners in WP3 and WP4. In Task 3.5 Development of an energy network modelling tool to plan and operate coupled gas, electricity, and thermal network; in Task 4.2 Specification of ICT architecture, stakeholder data requirements and objectives for Digital Twins platform, and Task 4.3 GIS-BIM embedded DHC piping and configuration planning platform.

2. How do you contribute to the Hypergryd Project EU with your work?

In close cooperation with KTH and ENVIPARK, we will develop a software to plan and operate coupled heat, cooling, and electricity networks. The tool analyzes the coupling between different energy carriers. It allows to quantify the impact of disruptions or extreme events, optimize investments in power-to-gas or power-to-heat technologies, and plan the evolution of coupled energy networks of the LILs partners.

3. Any tips for the public about your work?

encoord provides software tools to plan today’s energy systems and their transition to a decarbonized future. Our core technology is SAInt, a planning software to model coupled energy networks & markets. Our offices are in Denver, CO, USA and in Essen, Germany.

The Scenario Analysis Interface for Energy Systems (SAInt) is a planning software to model coupled energy networks & markets, including electricity, gas, heating, and cooling networks.

SAInt advances energy planning by allowing users to model coupled energy networks to quantify their interdependencies and synergies and plan their integration and coordination. SAInt’s users can run physical simulations and optimization models to quantify the trade-offs between costs and reliability and study the intersection of markets and physical systems.
