The role of Grid Singularity in the Hypergryd Project EU is: involved especially in WP3, also in WP4 and WP3.

1.What is the role of Grid Singularity in Hypergryd Project EU?
Grid Singularity is an awarded, open-source energy technology startup and cofounder of the Energy Web Foundation, the global energy industry consortium for blockchain-based innovations. Grid Singularity is building software tools that enable prosumers and consumers organized in energy communities, with the support of local aggregators, to simulate and implement peer-to-peer and community energy trading through the creation of active local energy markets (LEMs).
In the framework of the HYPERGRYD project, Grid Singularity will further enhance its Grid Singularity Exchange by adding a digital representation (digital twins) of thermal assets: heat pumps and district heating, in order to assess and affirm the role of these assets in local energy markets.
2.How do you contribute to the Hypergryd Project EU with your work?
Grid Singularity’s simulation tool will provide decision support for active prosumers and energy communities, grid operators and researchers, with a view of analyzing and optimizing the use of renewable and other energy assets, including select thermal assets, in local marketplaces with enabled peer-to-peer trading. The Grid Singularity Exchange will also be tested in the project’s living labs aiming for later operational deployment of peer-to-peer energy trading where regulatory conditions are favorable.
3. Any tips for the public about your work?
Decarbonizing our lifestyles is a huge, but necessary undertaking. When Grid Singularity started its journey in 2017, the energy sector was a limited space and only few could imagine a fully operating energy exchange. Grid Singularity set out to challenge the status quo and change the way people see and trade their energy by using cutting edge technology and espousing a bold design where the individual is not an end consumer but the center of an energy market.
